Hey Honda, how about you add some more power instead of just painting it a brighter color. There was a time when you could get 240hp out of a 2.0L motor, now the best you can do is 205 out of 2.4? Gimme at least 225 or GTFO!

Is VW hiring?

So the 2015 GTI and a Focus ST are the top two contenders for my next ride. Based off of your experience, which should I go with?

The Civic is disappointing (and quite shoddily built) compared to the other two. The Focus definitely held its own, but quick shifting felt rough, and the bolstered seats (while fine for me) were a tight squeeze for the bigger guys in our group. For me, the GTI was the clear winner, largely due to its super-smooth acceleration and amazing cornering ability, but know that I have a strong, strong VW bias.

If you want a car that's going to be practical both on the track and in daily driving, the GTI is far and away the best choice. If you're just looking for a track car, then I can only tell you to drive both and form your own opinion, because you won't be disappointed with either.

But I'm a VW guy through-and-through, so I'm sure I'm speaking with a certain amount of bias.

I've been hearing the same thing from pretty much everyone. I plan on driving both once I'm not walking with a cane anymore. The discount with VWs partner purchase program seems to be better than Ford's x-plan pricing. Plus, working for a German company the GTI would make a bit more sense for me. lol

If you're ever in the DC area and want to meet up for coffee or something so I can review your background, then possibly.

Ding Ding Ding. Well said. I used to be a Honda guy but I haven't given then a 2nd glance in years unfortunately. Certainly not when I bought my ST.
